sunflwr - heard it in a dream ‘LP’

Sunflwr has officially entered a new chapter of his artistic evolution with the release of his mesmerizing LP “heard it in a dream”, out now via the genre-pushing label Unbelievably Spectacular. The eleven-track body of work is a soulful, cinematic, and melodic house journey that effortlessly glides between dream house, chill, lounge, melodic, dance pop and electronic textures — music that feels tailor-made for golden hour drives, sunrise dancefloors, or simply getting lost in your own thoughts with headphones on.

With over 150 million streams to his name and a breakout year that saw him headline 50+ shows across North America, South America, Europe, and Africa, Sunflwr — the alias of Bay Area native Lucas Hanson — is not just a name to know, but a name to remember. Selling out iconic venues in global hotspots like London, New York, Amsterdam, São Paulo, and Paris, he’s swiftly established himself as one of electronic music’s most exciting new voices.

The new LP, “heard it in a dream”, is Sunflwr at his most expressive — a deeply personal and artistically confident release. It opens with the atmospheric “miniature overture,” setting the tone with cinematic flair before easing into dreamy highlights like “stay in my dreams” and the shimmering fan-favorite “feel it yet?” — a standout cut already making waves on international radio and playlists. The entire tracklist plays like a carefully curated thought provoking diary: from the haunting beauty of “she was brave” to the poignant closer “when there's no one else,” each song carries emotional depth while staying danceable and bright.

This release marks a significant moment in Sunflwr’s career. After years of quietly honing his sound — shaped by his background as a bass and piano player and influenced by artists like Gorillaz, Little Dragon, and Bonobo — Hanson’s transition into the world of house music began in New York, where he studied music and fell in love with the city’s deep and soulful electronic scene. His move to Los Angeles in 2017 initially saw him take a creative pause, stepping away from music as he built a career in tech. But by 2020, a personal reconnection to creativity reignited his passion — and Sunflwr was born.

Since then, he’s released over 80 tracks and remixes, including eight EPs, each steeped in emotion, warmth, and groove. But “heard it in a dream” feels different — like a defining statement. To celebrate the release, Sunflwr hosted an intimate, sold-out event at El Cid in LA’s Silverlake, with support from DJ Houseplants, Target Demographic, and featured vocalists Ella Rosa and Keilimei, both of whom appear on the album.

And this is just the beginning. With support from EELF, Sunflwr is gearing up for a major world tour kicking off this May in North America — a live extension of his dreamlike universe.

Whether you’re discovering Sunflwr for the first time or have been riding the wave since the early days, “heard it in a dream” is the kind of release that leaves a mark — not just in your playlists, but in your memory.
